Properties
At room temperature HDTMPA is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water, and its solubility is less than 5% at room temperature.
HDTMPA can inhibit the formation of various scales (such as calcium carbonate scale, calcium sulfate scale, barium sulfate scale and iron oxide scale, etc.), but is mainly used to suppress calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scale in water treatment. Among various organic phosphonic acids, the calcium sulfate scale has the best performance, and not only has a high scale inhibition rate, but also has a long effective time. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for the extrusion treatment of oil fields. HDTMPA can also be used in boiler water treatment.
